Project Number One

Sorry that it took so long (couldn't find the camera for ages) but here's the finished project.

A lovely, stripey, bright tea cosy...

And on the other side...
I did get a bit of help from my mum as I am still not totally confident, hopefully for my next project I can do it by myself.

I am currently making some bunting for my room, so that will be my next post.

  6. Wow! You've done a fab job. Mum has obviously passed on her sewing skills to you. You should go into business together :o)

  7. Dot - I love this tea cozy! You have SUPERIOR taste in fabric colors and prints, and I don't say that often because I generally like plain fabrics. But this is so lovely! I'm one of those folks who read your mum's blog and now I get to read yours! You are a great sewist/sewer/seamstress/Nifty Needlewoman ...er... whatever it is that us sewing people call each other. I can't wait to see the bunting!

P.S. If your mum is reading this, hello Lucy! Your Dottie is quite fabulous! You must be very proud!

  8. I've just found your blog Dottie and your tea cosy is brilliant - the fabrics you have chosen are gorgeous and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I LOVE your sewing machine (as much as I cherish my own little machine I can't help wishing it was red now that I have seen yours) :0)

Looking forward to seeing all of your fab makes.

  13. Dot, your tea cosy is just gorgeous. Did you follow a pattern or some instructions? I am a beginner and would love to try something similar.

    Thanks
